We are a humble firm. Being humble is how we learn. Without this as a core principle, no single employee could keep up with the pace of innovation at CAGR SQUARE, nor in the markets. If anyone at CAGR SQUARE thinks that they already know everything, how can they possibly learn anything new? If we are arrogant and the data changes, how are we going to let go of our beliefs if they are wrong? Instead, at CAGR SQUARE even the black belts come to work in their white belts and start every day with a beginner’s mind.

Our portfolio managers are compensated based on the consistency of their kindness. Our power comes from knowing that kindness has no downside. It works. Not every time, but always.
Our kindness allows us to build long-term relationships and partnerships. Think about the most important relationships in your life. They are almost certainly the ones that are the longest. Your parents, your spouse, your children, perhaps a couple of very old friends? Those relationships have benefitted the most from the power of compounding. The best shot CAGR SQUARE has to really matter to you – to be a true partner, not a vendor – is by practicing an extreme form of continuity. That’s why our investors always see the same folks from CAGR SQUARE showing up in their offices, that’s why they see us a lot, and that’s why we don’t seek more diversification in our investor relationships. This principle also applies internally – we have a smaller number of phenomenally talented people, that we hope will continue with the firm for their entire careers.
